Rehabilitation Therapists help people suffering from pain, injury or illness involving the musculoskeletal system. They help people of all ages to maintain their health and fitness, recover from and prevent injury and reduce pain using exercise, movement and manual based therapeutic interventions.

what to expect ?

An initial consultation will offer an in-depth interview and physical assessment to identify an appropriate diagnosis, any predisposing factors to injury and any other health related disorders. They will then use clinical reasoning to tailor a recovery plan to return you to optimum function and physical activity.
Rehabilitation Therapists are trained to carefully record and protect all personal information, including sensitive information relevant to their condition as part of the treatment session.

What a Treatment might include:
Treatment will incorporate evidenced based therapeutic interventions and exercise with the plan being monitored and modified where needed. This could include exercise rehabilitation, graded activity, manual therapy, workplace assessment and modification, massage, taping / bracing and electrotherapy. Toby graduated from St Mary’s University with a first-class bachelor’s degree in Sport Rehabilitation.

Toby is trained in Sports and Exercise Medicine principles. With this, there is an importance on the injury consultations, treatment, and the implementation of exercise and rehabilitation programs.

Over the course of Toby’s studies and post studies, he has managed to work in various environments and in numerous roles. These include working with Allen Physiotherapy, Care Fisioterapia (Madrid clinic), and several student clinics. Additionally, Toby has worked in a variety of sporting situations being a crucial part of the medical team for the England national football team, football teams in Madrid, and the London Broncos Rugby League team respectively.

In addition to combining academic theory with clinical practice, Toby has also managed to maintain and broaden his knowledge by working in the anatomy department of St George’s University, London, where he is regularly involved with cadaveric studies and teaching.

With this experience in mind, Toby manages clients on a case by case basis through the management of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal injury. Being able to work with professional athletes, corporate workers, business workers, and the general population has allowed Toby to be more precise and specific in his application of treating patients.

One of Toby’s key approaches to his style is his explanation to patients of what is going on, and why it is. This allows Toby to gain the trust of the patient and fill them with confidence.

There are countless ways to manage the human body, therefore it’s his own style that yields the best results for patients allowing them to move freely and be pain-free.
